Fiberglas® Pipe Insulation by Owens Corning
Owens Corning Fiberglas® pipe insulations are molded of heavy density resin bonded inorganic glass fibers. These one-piece, 36" (914mm) long, hinged sections are opened, placed over the pipe, closed using a self sealing lap.
Fiberglas SSL II® Pipe Insulation is jacketed with a smooth, reinforced, wrinkle resistant all-service (ASJ) vapor retarder jacket. Factory applied DOUBLESURE† double pressure sensitive adhesive closure provides positive mechanical and vapor sealing of the longitudinal jacket seam. Pressure sensitive butt strip seals complete the positive closure. Available in the most popular sizes.
In larger sizes Fiberglas Pipe Insulation is furnished with SSL® I, a single adhesive lap seal. Fiberglas “No-Wrap” Pipe Insulation is also available without a jacket. It is intended for field installation of jacketing appropriate to the vapor control, damage or corrosion resistance requirements of the application.
Evolution™ Paper-Free ASJ Fiberglas® Pipe Insulation by Owens Corning
Evolution™ Paper-Free ASJ pipe insulation is wrapped with a cleanable, tough, paper-free vapor barrier jacketing. The jacketing has a factory applied double pressure-sensitive adhesive system which provides positive closure and vapor sealing of the longitudinal joint, even at ambient temperatures as low as 25F. Self-sealing butt strips are provided for sealing circumferential joints. This complete sealing system eliminates the need for staples, adhesives, or bands and provides a positive vapor seal for condensation control requirements.
The paper-free property of Evolution™ does not support mold growth and is impervious to moisture, which can help improve indoor air quality. It’s more than 3x tougher* than standard ASJ, so it better resists job site abuse and maintains a superior finished appearance, which reduces callbacks.
The facing is cleanable, accepts mastic, can be painted for color coding and has an appearance that is compatible with standard ASJ. All sizes have the SSL II® Positive Closure System, which eliminates the need to staple and promotes job site productivity.
Micro-Lok® Fiber Glass Pipe Insulation by Johns Manville
Micro-Lok® fiber glass pipe insulation is made from glass fibers bonded with a thermosetting resin and produced in 36” (0.92 m) lengths. Jacketed with a reinforced vapor retarder facing and a factory-applied, longitudinal acrylic adhesive closure system, Micro-Lok is designed for application temperatures from 0°F to 850°F (-18°C to 454°C).
Section joints are sealed with butt strips which are supplied from the factory. The factory-installed tape system permits installation at ambient temperatures down to 15°F (-9°C), and will not soften or separate when exposed to high ambient temperatures and humidity. Micro-Lok® fiber glass pipe insulation is suitable for installation over hot, cold, concealed and exposed piping systems with operating temperatures up to 850°F (454°C).
Weather-protective jacketing is required for outdoor applications. Pipes operating below ambient temperatures require all joints to be sealed with the factory-applied, self-seal lap and butt strips.
Vaporwick® Pipe Covering by Owens Corning
Vaporwick® is an innovative new insulation product designed specifically for below-ambient temperature applications in severe hot/humid operating environments. Keeps insulation dry by using a specially designed wicking material that absorbs condensed water from the pipe surface and wicks it to the outside.
Vaporwick® can be installed directly over Wet Piping so systems don’t need to be shut down during the product’s installation. Has a self-sealing Lap Seal with no need for staples or mastic. Meets requirements for Mold and Fungi Resistance by providing no sustenance for mold to propagate.
Pipeshield Fiberglas® Pipe Insulation by Owens Corning
High quality Owens Corning pipe insulation with a factory applied white polymer facing ideal for applications requiring a durable and flexible vapor retarder and an attractive finish polymer. Facing is significantly stronger and more puncture resistant than standard ASJ facing.
